Disclosure
The one-paragraph version: DailyBrain earns money through display ads (currently Google AdSense) and may earn commissions through affiliate links in blog posts. The games are always free. Ads are disclosed on the page. Affiliate links are labelled. Sponsored content, if we ever publish any, will be clearly marked. Our puzzle content is never influenced by advertisers or affiliate partners.
We run display ads via Google AdSense on the site wrapper. Ads do not appear inside game windows.
Blog posts and articles may contain affiliate links. These are always disclosed at or near the link.
If a post is sponsored or paid for by a brand, it will be marked "Sponsored" at the top.
No game content is pay-to-win, paywalled, or influenced by any advertiser or partner.
1. FTC Compliance Statement
This disclosure page is provided in compliance with the United States Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255), as well as equivalent disclosure requirements in other jurisdictions including the UK's Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations and the EU's Unfair Commercial Practices Directive.
In plain terms: if we receive payment, free products, commissions, or any other material benefit in connection with content on this site, we will tell you clearly and prominently — not buried in a footer, not hidden behind a vague "partner" label.
2. Display Advertising
2.1 Google AdSense
DailyBrain is currently enrolled in Google AdSense, a display advertising programme operated by Google LLC. Google AdSense automatically matches ads to the content and audience of the Site. When you see a banner or rectangle ad on DailyBrain, it is served by Google and we receive a payment each time such an ad is displayed or clicked, depending on the ad format.
We do not choose the specific ads that appear. Google's algorithm selects ads based on factors including the content of the page you are viewing and, if you have not opted out, your browsing history across other sites.
These ads are clearly separated from editorial content. They appear in designated ad slots: a leaderboard banner at the top and/or bottom of the page, and a rectangle unit between content sections. They do not appear inside game windows.
2.2 Other Advertising Networks
We may in the future join additional advertising networks or work directly with advertisers. If we do, this page will be updated to name those relationships. The same principles apply: ads will be visually distinct from content and placed in clearly designated locations.
2.3 What We Do Not Allow
Regardless of which ad networks we use, DailyBrain does not and will not serve:
- Interstitial ads that block the game before your first move
- Autoplaying video ads with sound
- Pop-up or pop-under ads
- Ads embedded inside game logic or puzzle content
- Ads that require you to watch or interact with them to unlock a puzzle
3. Affiliate Marketing
DailyBrain participates in, or may in the future participate in, affiliate marketing programmes. Affiliate marketing means we earn a commission when you click a link on our site and subsequently make a qualifying purchase from a third-party retailer or service provider. The price you pay is not affected by our commission.
3.1 How Affiliate Links Are Disclosed
Every affiliate link on DailyBrain will be accompanied by one of the following disclosures, placed at or near the link:
- The label "[affiliate link]" immediately following the link
- A statement at the top of the article such as: "This post contains affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you."
- A disclosure label such as "Ad", "Sponsored link", or "Partner link" visually adjacent to the link
We will not use indirect phrases such as "recommended partner" or "featured product" without also including an explicit statement that a commercial relationship exists.
3.2 Affiliate Programmes We May Use
Affiliate programmes we participate in or may participate in include, but are not limited to:
- Amazon Associates (or local Amazon affiliate programmes)
- Shareasale, CJ Affiliate, Impact, or similar affiliate networks
- Individual brand affiliate programmes relevant to puzzles, games, books, or education
We will update this list as our affiliate relationships change. If you want to know whether a specific link is an affiliate link, ask us and we will tell you.
3.3 Affiliate Commissions Do Not Influence Recommendations
We only include links to products or services we consider relevant and useful to our audience. Earning a commission on a link does not mean we are recommending the product above other options. We do not accept payment in exchange for featuring a product in our editorial content or ranking it more favourably than we otherwise would.
4. Sponsored Content
DailyBrain does not currently publish sponsored content. If we do so in the future, any article, post, video, or other piece of content that has been paid for by a brand or third party — in whole or in part — will be clearly labelled with one of the following at the very top of the page:
- "Sponsored"
- "Paid partnership with [Brand Name]"
- "This article was produced in partnership with [Brand Name]"
Sponsored content will never appear inside game windows or as part of puzzle content. Sponsorship arrangements will not influence the scoring, ranking, or content of any game on the Site.
5. Editorial Independence
Our puzzle content — including all Word Ladder word sets, all Daily Detective mystery cases, all Color Matcher colour values, and all other current and future game content — is produced independently. No advertiser, affiliate partner, or sponsor has any input into puzzle design, difficulty, scoring, or answers.
Our blog content represents our genuine views and research. If we publish an opinion or recommendation, it reflects what we actually think, not what we have been paid to say. Where a commercial relationship is relevant to an opinion expressed, we disclose it clearly and prominently.
6. Games Are Not Pay-to-Win
All games on DailyBrain are and will remain free to play in full. No game feature — including hints, extra attempts, daily streaks, or access to any puzzle — is locked behind a payment. If we introduce optional premium features in the future, the free experience will remain complete and unpenalised.
No advertiser or affiliate partner receives preferential placement in game content, puzzle answers, or any in-game element.
7. Third-Party Tracking
Because we use Google AdSense and may use analytics services, third-party tracking technologies (including cookies and pixel tags) may be active when you visit DailyBrain. These technologies are operated by those third parties, not by us, and are subject to their own privacy policies.
We do not receive personally identifiable information from these third-party trackers. We receive only aggregated reports (such as total page views or ad click rates). For full details of what data these third parties collect and how to opt out, please see our Privacy Policy, Section 4.
8. How to Identify Commercial Content at a Glance
Here is a quick reference for spotting different types of commercial content on DailyBrain:
- Display ad: Appears in a boxed region at the top, bottom, or between content sections. May say "Advertisement" or show the Google AdChoices icon (a small blue triangle).
- Affiliate link: Accompanied by "[affiliate link]" text, or the article begins with an affiliate disclosure statement.
- Sponsored post: Labelled "Sponsored" or "Paid partnership with [Brand]" at the very top of the page, before the article content begins.
- Unpaid editorial content: Everything else. Including all puzzles, game content, standard blog posts, FAQs, and how-to articles that do not carry one of the labels above.
If you ever see something that looks commercial and is not labelled, please tell us. We take disclosure seriously and will correct any omission promptly.
9. Questions
If you have any questions about our advertising or affiliate relationships, or if you believe any content on DailyBrain is not properly disclosed, please use our contact page. We will respond promptly.
